Canadian Volunteer Needed in Canada

Job Description: Canadian Volunteer Needed to work in a Small, First Nations, Community in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The position would be in the community of Wrigley and would involve working as a tutor and teaching assistant in the community school. This is an extremely challenging position as the community suffers from a variety of social problems with alcoholism and drug abuse being very wide spread.

Job Details: The position would start shortly after the New Year and continue for the remainder of the school year which is the end of June. Frontiers Foundation would cover all of the volunteers travel costs within Canada, all food and living expenses, and provide a living allowance of $50 a week. If you are looking for a challenge, and a very unique opportunity to learn of another culture and see this part of the world, this is an incredible opportunity.

Job Description: Volunteers Needed from throughout the world to come to Canada and work as tutors and teaching assistants in First Nations communities in the north of Canada. Frontiers Foundation is a federally chatered non-profit charity that recruits volunteers from throughout the world to come to Canada and work as tutors and teaching assistants in First Nations communities in the north of Canada. Our programme works around the school year and volunteers would be expected to work on the project from early September through to the end of June. Frontiers Foundation covers the volunteers travel within Canada along with their food and living expenses while they are volunteering on the project. We also provide insurance, a stipend of $50 a week for pocket money, and winter clothing. The communities in which we work suffer from severe social problems with the greatest problems being around alcoholism and drug abuse. The work is extremely challenging and difficult but it can also be incredibly rewarding. We are looking for outgoing motivated people with a strong desire to learn about another culture and way of life.
