Brazil is the only country in the continent of South America, where Portuguese is spoken widely. There is a lot of ESL teaching jobs in Brazil as English teachers are in high demand. The growth of economy and tourism has led to the growing demand of ESL teachers in Brazil. As the demands of English teachers are high, it is possible to get a job in this field quite easily. Many teachers usually do not come to Brazil for teaching long term as this nation is not very safe. It is also a hassle to get a proper work visa. The teachers are usually given a CPF or Cadastro de Pessoa FAsica, which is same as a Social Security Number. ESL jobs are available in the smallest of towns around Brazil and most of the good job opportunities are concentrated in the smaller towns. The foreigners in the small town are also highly regarded.

There are a lot of English school sin Brazil including large national franchise having their branches around the country. These schools do not pay very well. The schools generally help the teachers in getting an accommodation.
