Teaching English in Saudi Arabia
Riyadh is one of the major cities of Saudi Arabia and is also the heaven of the ESL teachers. The demand of the English teachers in Riyadh is huge yet the schools and the institutes make sure that they get the best teachers in the market. The ESL teachers in Riyadh like most places in the Middle East are paid very well.
There are numerous public, private and International schools in Riyadh, which hire teachers on the regular basis. The International schools often hire foreign teachers for all subjects. It is not mandatory that English teachers in Saudi Arabia have to be Native English speakers. Anyone with good command over the language good academic qualification and also a TEFL Certificate are eligible for a teaching post. Teachers are also hired for other subjects but they are required to have specialization in that particular area. Apart from working in a school or institution the teachers could also take up private tuitions as these are quite lucrative. The average pay scale of a private tutor is from $26 to $ 40.

provided accommodation by the schools. The teachers and their families are
mostly given medical insurance and children of the teachers are often given free
education. Teaching English especially to the male students can be challenging
at times. The teachers are expected to teach a classroom of 30 students mostly.
It is important to keep an open mind and cool mindset while teaching in these
