Job Description: The Center for Business English (CBE) at the Yemen College of Middle Eastern Studies (YCMES) is hiring ESP/Business English Teachers with the commencement date of 25th February 2012. Summary of Responsibilities ?Teach English courses following established YCMES guidelines and using acceptable communicative language teaching strategies and methodologies. Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to optimal learning. ?Monitor, assess, and evaluate student work and progress. ?Participate in teacher training workshops and other developmental activities designed to enhance the quality of teaching and participate in the delivery of such training. ?Prepare reports and lessons plans, supplemental materials and activities, and quizzes as required. Maintains an up-to-date record of lesson plans, student attendance and grade records, according to YCMES procedures. ?Contribute to curriculum and test development activities. ?Assist in miscellaneous administrative duties related to the effective operation of a language institute. ?As a native speaker serve as a resource on the English language and culture to trainees and staff members who are not familiar with native-English culture. Qualifications and desirable skills ?MA in EFL, Education, or related field, or MBA and TEFL certification, or BA with TEFL/TESOL certification and significant experience ?3 years full-time EFL/ESP teaching experience ?Flexibility to work in a diverse and multicultural work environment ?Organizational and multi-tasking skills ?Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and computer usage ?Only native English speakers will be considered for this position

About Yemen While located on the Arabian Peninsula, Yemen is culturally, geographically, and economically distinct from the Gulf countries. Job Description: We are currently looking for qualified and enthusiastic candidates for teaching positions in Sanaa, Yemen. Total No of positions: 10. The contract will be for minimum of 6 months or 1 year or longer. 1- shared furnished bachelor accommodation will be provided 2- Arabic Courses. 3- Computer courses. (Application, Technical) 4- Trips including accommodation will be provided 2 days per month. POSITION TITLE: English Language Program Teacher BASIC FUNCTION: To deliver English Language training to New Horizons students following the New Horizons delivery system, method and procedures. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Class Preparation. ? Accountable for designing and developing individual Lesson Plans following the methods and systems outlined by Program Manager. ? Ensure timely and appropriate delivery of classroom Exercise and/or Conversation Club classes. ? Ensure compliance with New Horizons policies and practices for program Delivery and customer service. ? Ensure that prior to each lesson the Online course is reviewed and Understood. 2. Instruction. ? Be present in the New Horizons center 40 hours a week. ? Teach up to 33 hours a week. ? Spend at least 7 hours a week preparing classes or aiding students. ? Monitor and report student progress using the Teacher Management System (TMS). ? Attend staff meetings. 3. Program Administration. ? Conduct, score and interpret student on-line, written and oral placement tests. ? Determine the proper placement of students in classes based on test scores. ? Advise students on such issues as progress and performance by regularly monitoring progress. ? Submit a collection of lesson plans on a monthly basis to Program Manager for review. 4. Other duties as determined by General Manager. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 13. SUBORDINATE RELATIONSHIP ? English Language Program Manager POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work well in a structured and well-defined system. Able to motivate people to achieve their learning goals. Two or more years of ESL teaching experience. Bachelor?s degree in related field required. MA in TESL or education preferred. Professional involvement (TESOL, NAFSA, etc.) preferred. Native speaker fluency: Excellent command of written and spoken English required. Experience teaching in a non-English speaking country preferred. Computer literacy and ability to demonstrate proficiency in software applications.
