Job Description: The YCMES is looking for a full-time Curriculum Specialist and Program Coordinator to expand its EFL Program, with a specific focus on ESP Courses, intended start date being July 2010. Job Details: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To review, develop and implement curricula for EFL and ESP courses that are consistent with the YCMES' vision, goals and policies. Monitor and assess curriculum needs and results; To create and edit curriculum guides and materials, as well as student assessment; To perform classroom observation, conduct or coordinate in-training sessions; To examine and develop graduation requirements, assist in the development of program policies and administrative rules, and provide leadership and direction to faculty on all academic and educational matters. ELIGIBILITY: Candidates should be native or near-native English speakers; MA in EFL, TEFL, ESP, Education, Linguistics or Curriculum Design; Experience in EFL/ESP Teaching; Should be flexible to work in a diverse and multicultural work environment; Organizational and multi-tasking skills; Proficient working on computers, including MS-Office. Job Description: AMIDEAST, a non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to strengthening understanding and education in the Middle East and North Africa, has positions open at its Yemen offices for TEFL/CELTA-certified teachers with Bachelor?s degrees and native or native-like English language proficiency. These positions are ideal for entry-level teachers or anyone looking to improve his or her teaching skills by working with mentors and colleagues in a guided, structured, and supportive atmosphere. Teachers work with students from a variety of ages and backgrounds. A significant percentage of our students are under-served youth who have received U.S.-government-supported scholarships. Teaching is complemented by a library, CALL lab, and multimedia-equipped classrooms. Job Details: Teachers can expect to work four to six hours per day (two to three classes per day), five days per week. Sessions last for six weeks and there are one-week breaks between most sessions. Teacher compensation ranges from $11 to $15 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications. A housing allowance, round-trip transportation to home of origin, and residency processing are also provided for teachers able to make a one-year commitment. Teachers must be willing to work at AMIDEAST?s Aden or Sana?a offices and be able to start teaching by September 18, 2010. There may also be the opportunity to teach at one of our outreach sites in Taiz, Mukalla, or Shihr.
